Works on Paper
‘LA MIA CARTA’
Paper has to be loved. It has to be loved in order to be understood, otherwise it is better to use canvas, wood, plaster, plexiglass, aluminium, etc.…
Paper holds many surprises in itself; it is not only a question of coarse or fine grain, smooth or rough, but above all of its capacity to answer watercolour, pencil, pastel. The kinds of paper one can use are countless and countless are the effects that can be obtained. Knowing how to choose the right kind of paper means coming close to the result one wants. Paper is fragile and must be worked in transparency and with delicacy.
It answers your way of working… paper is female.
The surface with its weave must always remain visible through the laying on of colour, because it takes part in the painting itself with its softness and its tissue-like quality.
